NEW YEAR, NEW RESOLUTION !!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 !!!

Another year gone by and before we realize it, it’s already 2011. Have you made your resolution for new year?

Most people usually make a new resolution for New Year, a promise to self to change something in our life. But unfortunately in the course of the year, we tend to ‘neglect’ or even completely forget the resolution that we made. So now I want to share on how I make resolutions for new year and how to keep and fulfill that resolution until the end of the year. I hope this will be useful for you too. :)

First of all, I always make a specific and clear resolution, like for example : I want to stop my drinking habit completely. Because for me obscure resolution, like : I want to be a better person next year, is too broad and too confusing. With resolution like that, I will have a hard time to find where I should begin with to make myself a better person and how’s that exactly better mean anyway, in financial or family or what, and in the end it will make me lose my spirit or forget to fulfill my resolution. Compared to specific resolution like the first example. With that kind of resolution I know what I need to do and how I’m going to do it.

Second, I always make a down to earth resolution. I personally don’t like to make a resolution that is unreachable, like : I will have 1 billion dollar by the end of year. It’s true nothing is impossible, but what are the chances for me to be able to fulfill it? Very very small. What’s the point then? Sometimes for me some things that are too big are not always good, and one of those goes for resolution. Why don’t I keep with something simple, yet meaningful and reachable, so when the year’s end I can look back and say I fulfilled my resolution.

Third, I always decide what I want or wish to change by thinking back what was the thing that struck me the most or the most memorable thing in this year. Why it should be the thing that struck me the most? Well, there are several reasons. The first reason is because the important part is I don’t want to forget my resolution, if I forget it then how the heck I’m going to fulfill it, and by making resolution based on that I will be able to remember my resolution all year long. I know for sure I will not easily forget the things what struck me the most, I will be remember it for a long time. So whenever I remembered about that thing, my resolution will also pop up in my head at the same time, so it’s kind like of constant reminder, this way I can always remember the resolution I made until the end of year. The second reason is because it will give me additional motivation and reason to fulfill my resolution. For me personally, if a thing that was really struck me (especially in a bad way) then I will try as hard and as much as I can to change it because I don’t want that thing ever happen to me again.

The last, I always relate and tell my resolution to people that I love or close to me, like my family and friends. By relating my resolution to them, it gives me a huge motivation and reason to fulfill my resolution, because with this I think I don’t fulfill this resolution just for my personal accomplishment but rather for their sake too. Whenever I see them, I will remember my resolution. And by telling them my resolution, they can remind me if I still forget my resolution unconsciously somehow or if I stray from my way.

Everything Happens for a Reason

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

A savior was born today to save us from eternal death!!! (sorry for the late post, I have connection problem)

Several days ago, my friends sent me this story.

There are 2 people on a travel together. They have a donkey to carry their stuff, a torch to light up their way at night, and a chicken, friend of the donkey. One of the two people is a very good person that believes in God and the other is atheist. Along the way, they talked about God. “God is good.” The believer said. “Let us see if you’re right about that in our travel.” The atheist replied. When it’s about evening, they reached a small village and then searched for a place to stay. But unfortunately there are no vacant places. So they decided to continue to the village outskirt and sleep there.

The atheist said cynically,”God is really good huh!?”. The believer replied, “Maybe for God this is the best place for us to spend the night.”

They set up a small camp under a big tree near the road to the small village. They tied their donkey to a tree several feet from them and when they about to light up their torch, suddenly they hear a loud sound. A beast preyed their donkey and ate it. Those two people climb a tree to get away from it, to stay safe. “You still want to say God is good!?” the atheist complained. The believer replied again,”If that beast didn’t prey the donkey, it surely would prey us. So yes, God is good.”

An hour later or so, they hear the chicken scream. From above they can see, a wild cat preyed their chicken and ate it. This time before the atheist could say anything, the believer said,”That chicken save us, without that chicken, that wild cat already climbed up the tree and attack us. God is good.”. Just after the believer said that, a wind gushes blow out their torch, their heat and light source in the cold night. “It looks like God is really ‘good’ to us this night!” the atheist mad and the believer just stay silence.

The next morning, these two people go back to the small village to stock up. And when they come, they really surprised to see the village. There are houses on fire and wounded people everywhere. The village was robbed by a horde of thieves last night. The believer said, “See, God is good! If our torch still lit up the whole night, the thieves would be able to where we are, and if we didn’t climb the tree then it might be we would be robbed too. So clearly up in the tree with blown out torch is the best for us!”

Most of the times in our life we are like the atheist in the story, whether we realized it or not. We always get mad and blame God or other people when something doesn’t go the way we want it to be. But we forget to see the big picture. Always forget to think that maybe the hardship or bitterness that we experience today can lead us into the best possible way for our life. Maybe those entire things happen for our goodness. It’s true that we can’t see what that goodness is now, but in the future we’ll understand it and when we looked back we will be grateful for what happened to us.

Just like in the story, it’s true they experienced many unpleasant things that night, they lost their stuff, their donkey and chicken, and they have to stay above on tree on cold night, but they’re not harmed at all. Compared what would happen if they able to stay in the village, they might end up wounded or even lost their life.

Let’s learn to be like the believer in the story, see everything from the positive side. Go through every hardship and unpleasant thing patiently and calmly, always believe that there’s a greater purpose for us for everything happen in our life. So don’t be disappointed, broken or even gave up when hardship hit you. Believe there’s goodness waiting for you in the end and that’s will give you strength and courage more than you can imagine to face anything in your life.

Matter of Faith

It’s snowing and the weather started to get cold. Christmas tree and “year-end-sale” sign were everywhere. :D

Few days ago when I was driving I saw a big sign board written “You know Christmas is a myth” made by atheist organization or some kind and not too far away I saw another sign board “You know Christmas is NOT a myth” made by Christian organization. A battle between people with faith and people with faith in this jolly season, a little bit ironic. That made me thought, if those atheists really don’t believe in Christmas, then why they even bother to put a big sign board saying Christmas is a myth? Doesn’t that mean they actually care about Christmas and they still thinking about it inside their heart and mind but they just deny it, pathetic. If they really don’t believe in Christmas then they should have forgotten everything about it, not bring it up again and again.

Yesterday I met my friend and he asked me why I still believe in God and how my faith didn’t waver even though there are many findings – according to him - that show God doesn’t exist. He admitted that he slowly started to lose faith in religion.

Well for me, it’s easy. Every religion in this world offers salvation or at least grant for their believers to go to heaven when they die, which I’m sure everybody already know about this. If you have a good life, have done many good things or at least didn’t do anything really bad, then why waste it by become atheist? I mean, if you become a believer of a religion – any religion – then you will have a chance to go to heaven when you die. It’s true some people argue that heaven don’t exist, but who knows!? Is there any conclusive evidence that prove heaven don’t exist? NO. Then why risk it by being atheist? Because you know, when you die and it turns out that heaven exist, you will regret it for eternity and you can’t do a thing to change it. It will be all too late by then.

It’s not that hard to believe. Choose religion that you think suit you, really clicked with you, then open your heart and turn off your pride. Because your pride is the biggest wall that hinder your heart to believe in most of the cases. Because of their pride people think that they know everything, they are the best and nothing is above them, but they’re wrong. And also turn off your logical sense. There’s no need for logic in believing and faith. Remember to believe and to have faith is with your HEART not with your MIND.

Moreover by committing oneself to a religion will make you better person. There will be people that will remind you when you do something wrong, people that can support you when you’re in hardships and many more. Don’t be stubborn, follow your heart, let people say what they want about you, because you know you’re right and you’ll be the one who laugh in the end.

Practice What You Preach

Hi, it’s been quite a long time since my last post – as usual, my schedule is full last month. Many people thought that I stopped writing this blog but no. I will not stop writing blog. :)

By the way it’s December now and I can feel the holiday festivities are starting everywhere.

Last month I met friends of my friend. There’s bit of misunderstanding since we’re all new to each other. I like to joke by nature and I do it most of the times, but it seemed these friends of my friend didn’t know it. So it all started when we were in the car and on our way we saw a young man driving really nice car. I was amazed and said wow, that’s cool, I wanna be like that. I said it without any intention, it just spontaneous commentary. Then my new friends suddenly told me that I shouldn’t envy that man and I should be grateful with everything I got and I need to look there are many people who are in worse condition than us. I was speechless at that moment. Then he asked me again what I like the most in this world and I said money in a joking way. Then he and the other friends of my friends lecturing me about greed and evolved pretty much to everything else that happened in the world (corrupted people, economic crisis, etc) all the way until I got home. I was lost of words, they’re so serious. At that time I really thought that they’re a great person judging from the way they talk – or lecture me - about righteousness and humanity.

The next day at work I talked with my friend asking about his friends from yesterday, about their life and something like that. It turned out my friends answers was shocking. My friend told me that his friends from last night were actually as good as I expected. He told me, few months ago his friend company raised several employees wage but unfortunately his friend wasn’t included. Based from his talk last night, he should still be grateful since he still has a job and many people out there were starving right? My friend asked me. But instead of grateful he went to the director office and protested the director because they didn’t raise his wage then the director angry and cut his wage. My friend told me that his friend often gets angry. And there’s still many unpleasant things about him my friend told me.

We often meet people like this in our life. They talks – and sometime criticize – other people really bad then make themselves sound right and better than anybody but in their real life they are actually no better than the people they talk or criticize. And in some case when people talk or criticize them back they will get really angry. What’s with the attitude? They can talk or criticize other people but they don’t want to be talked or criticized themselves. It seemed they think they are they’re perfect.

That’s just not right in my opinion. People should reflect on their own lives before talking or moreover criticizing other people. Don’t just scrutinizing on other people small flaws while they themselves have a lot bigger flaws. It’s shameful and it’s make them look like a hypocrite. What worse are other people will ignore what they say and started gossiping about them behind their back.

Instead of talking and criticizing, what they need to do first is to change their lives become better and set example for other people. For a start they can change themselves first by try to change any lack they could think of themselves. Then ask other people what bad point they see in them and try to change it. Of course it can’t be done overnight, it takes time and perseverance to change yourself. But remember act is louder than words. This way when they advise other people, people will hear them and look up to them. Another thing to think before they talk or criticize other people is they should really learn about that people because, who knows, that people can be a lot better than them. Think before speak, like a saying you better fast in thinking but slow to talk.

Matter of Spoiling

Few days ago I visited my friend’s house. He told me that he just bought a new car for his son. I was surprised, last month he said to me that he was broke because of his wage had been cut, and now he bought a new car for his son. So I assumed his economic condition is better now and I congratulated him. But then he said that he actually still broke. He bought the car with 5 year credit and he still doesn’t know how he will pay the installment. I was shocked and I asked why then he bought the car if he cannot afford it. He explained to me that his son was mad at him for not having his own car. His son said that he is ashamed to his friend because all of them have their own car. His son even threatened that he will runaway if my friend didn’t buy him a car. So my friend told me he got no choice but to buy the car.

Nowadays we often see thing like that happen. When the kid didn’t get what they want, they started to get mad at their parents by yelling, talking using harsh words or pointing finger at their parents face. This is not right and both the parents and the children are responsible for this to happen.

In my view, children supposed to respect and love their parents because of many factors. First, obviously parents are the one who gave children life. Second parents are the provider for children, they gave love, affection, good house to live in, food to eat and everything they can give to their children, hoping that their children would have a happy and successful life. Third parents are children protectors, they always guard their children and get them off from what they think is dangerous for their children. So what gives the reason for a child to mad at their parent? Nothing. Children need to understand their parents that they also human, they can also make mistakes. Another thing is when parents didn’t give children what they want doesn’t mean that the parents didn’t love the children. The children need to understand that it’s not easy for parents to earn money and their parents’ money is not unlimited. Children also need to learn to be frugal and not over consumptive, so they are not easily taunted by their friends to buy things that they actually don’t need.

On the other side, parents also responsible for this kind of thing to happen. It’s common nowadays for parents buying everything they children want, even when they actually cannot afford it. They think they can make their children happy this way and that way their children will love them more. Well, the parents are wrong. This kind of act will make the children suffer in the future and also there’s probability that they will hate you. I will explain why this can happen.

First, giving everything the children want will only make them spoiled children. This is bad, because they grew up with the mindset that they don’t need to do anything but they still can get everything, this will only make them lazy and weak person. This way the child will not have ambition, competitiveness and aspiration to become better since their life now is already perfect. The other thing is that the children will not used to face hardship because they never need an effort to get what they want. And when they become adult and left their parents, the children will get crushed by the world, they can’t survive. Nobody like spoiled brat. When they face hardship in their life they will give up. Spoiled children usually don’t strive to have a better life since they have no ambition or competitiveness. You can see that many self-made billionaires in this world are from poor family when they were little. Remember parents can show love without spoiling the children. Spoiling will only ruin the children life.

Second, giving everything the children want will only make them think parents as their “money maker” not as someone they should respect and love, and when the children didn’t get what they wanted they will mad and hate their parents, and some children even hate their parents because simple thing like this. Other apparent thing is that over time the children wants will become more and more demanding and uncontrollable.

Third, giving everything children want will turn them as wasteful person. Some parents might think that they have enough money so their children will not need to work in their whole life and that way it’s okay to spoil the children. That’s wrong again. The children that always get anything are usually will grow become over consumptive person. No matter how much money the parents have, the children will spend it like water bursting from tap and soon they will be poor and don’t know how to earn money.

I know some parents think that they have suffered when they were kid and now they want their children to be happy, have a better life than them by spoiling them. But by spoiling the children they actually ruin their child life in the future. The will not be able to stand with their own leg when the parents are gone.

I personally think that parents shouldn’t give anything their children want, instead the parents need to teach the children to save their money to buy thing they want or use reward system, like they need to get good grades or something like that to get the things they want. It’s much better rather than blindly gave them anything they want. The parents need to teach the children how the world works from early age so they can be great people in their life. It’s for their own goodness in and I’m sure they will understand it and grateful in the future that their parents took the right decision.

Matter of Bullying

Today I'm gonna talk about bullying, because I concerned with recent news about bullying and I think at some certain point (especially at young age), everybody has experienced / is experiencing / will experience bully, whether became bullier or the one who is being bullied. Recently I read some disturbing news that bullying rate is increasing and even caused students to suicide. For me this is indirect killing and the bulliers are killers. This is very horrifying and also sad on the other side. What's more is that this bullying happened in the school and university, place where people supposed to learn and to be taught knowledge and good morals, so they can be good person in their future life, not become killers. I even read that some schools even turned blindeye to the bullying that happened inside their schools, no wonder now the streets are filled with criminals.

First, people need to learn that everyone is equal status and should not be differentiated because of their race, gender, origin, preference, economy status, skin color, accent, physical status (i.e. disability) or anything else. Everyone is created equal. People usually bully other people because this other people are not the same as them or have something different from them. It can be seen from the cases that are published in the news. Like the girl that are being bullied because her weird accent, or the boy that are gay. Yes it's true they are different, but that doesn't give you the right to judge them and bully them. What's worse is the bulliers usually think themselves are better or superior than the one who being bullied. They're wrong! Both the bulliers and bullied are human, they are the same being and every human is equal, the one who is superior than human is only GOD.

Second, the bulliers need to reflect on themselves. What makes them think they’re right and the one being bullied wrong? Are bulliers are perfect human or sinless human? No. Most of the times bulliers are popular boys or girls in the school and they think they’re great. Yes, maybe at that time you’re great, young, and people like you, but let me tell you, once you got out from university you’re nothing. And who knows that the one who you bullied might become your boss someday and get you back. I’ve seen many bulliers from my time become just regular employees, and when their boss mad at them they can’t do anything, just hanging their head. Or some other bulliers that don’t want to work, they become gangsters and end up in jail or die pointlessly. And at that time you’ll realize you’re not great.

Third, most bulliers think that bullying is cool, funny and it can make other students respect them. It’s really stupid. They don’t realize that they actually ruining someone else life and killing them and it’s ridiculous they’re taking it easy. As you can see in the first story in the news link above, the bulliers are actually laughing when they see the dead body of person they bullied. I’m speechless. They actually the one who killed it and they laugh. Where’s their moral? For me, I see them as cold heartless killer. They should be ashamed. Let me tell you ruining people’s life and killing them is not cool, believe it or not you’ll get the payback in the future, in the times you don’t really expect.

Fourth, I want the bulliers think what if it's like to be the one who are being bullied. The bulliers need to feel what's it's like to be on the shoes of the one who is being bullied. Do they want to be treated or bullied like that if they were them? If they answer no, then why do it to other people. "Do to other people as you want them do unto you" that's the golden rule. And what's more, most of the bulliers actually weaker, insecure and more susceptible than the one who are being bullied, and they didn't realize it, until they get bullied by other people. So please, before bully other people, think what if you're the one in their position.

So I have few tips for people who are being bullied :

1. Whatever they do to you, you should keep happy! Just ignore them. I know it’s hard, but if you sad, crying, fear, or scared it’s only make them happy. If you ignore them, eventually they’ll get bored with you and leave you. Remember, just keep happy even they’re throwing food at your face or spit you, as long you are not harmed, ignore it, and keep a smile on your face.

2. Make friends with other people who are being bullied, the more people the better. Because if things get to rough you can fight them back or at last your friends can call the teacher or the one in charge to help you and protect you.

3. Tell people or institution in charge that you’re being bullied. The first one should be your schools and parents, because they’re the one who are close to you. Second, if you live in US you can visit stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov, if you live in other country you can seek institution like this or go to the police if things get worse, they’ll help you. Third, you can seek help to your religion place, like church, I’m sure they’ll help you. And don’t be shy to tell them why people bullied you, it’s better for you to live than die pointlessly and make people who really love you sad.

4. DON’T EVER THINK DEATH IS THE WAY OUT! Whatever happened, don’t think to kill yourself. Live is better than die. Just hang on with the bullying, once you’re out from high school or university, you’re free! Think what the future has in store for you, maybe you’ll be able to reach your dream.

5. ALWAYS THINK OF YOUR DREAM OR LOVED ONE. Just focus on that, tell yourself you will endure this for the sake of your dream or loved one. This will give you extra strength and courage.

6. Don’t let hatred and vengeance stay in your heart. Because you’ll become like them if you keep hatred and vengeance in your heart and you’ll never find happiness in your life. Learn to forgive and mercy.

7. The last and yet the most important. Don’t forget to PRAY. No matter what your religion is, PRAY to your GOD. I’m sure your God never leave you and always be there to help you if you pray.

⁶God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you ⁷and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well.

It's Fall season now!!

It’s October and it’s fall season now. There is one thing that I love from fall season that is the fall foliage, seeing the trees turn into yellowish orange and red color and then falling to the ground. It’s such beautiful scenery. I hope all of you can enjoy it as much as I enjoyed it.

During my trip in Alaska, I learned many interesting thing. When I first arrived, my guide told me that people in Alaska only enjoy 3 month of summer and the rest of the year is winter, where the cities would be covered by snow and the temperature drop. And usually businesses are only running at summer, so in winter the activity is really low. What came to my mind is how people can live here and why do they live here, isn’t better for them just move to better place? Then I started to ask those questions to some local people in every city that I visited in my trip.

Their answer to my question is amazed me. Everyone that I asked answered that they’re happy with their life. They said they already live there for their whole life. They have everything their need and they used to it. And some of them answered they’re lucky because they can enjoy nature and wildlife everyday. They also told me that in winter they usually do some small activity for local people or just gathering in someone house having a drink and tell story. I was really amazed on how they live their life there. They enjoyed it even though there are no shopping centers, no supermarkets, no electronic stores, no fast foods joint, no cinemas, etc. Alaska is only one example, because I know that there are many places in this world that’s just like this or worse, but people managed to still live there happily.

Now come to think of it, I’m thinking that people who live in the city should be much happier with their life, since they have all kind of convenient in their life and not to mention better weather. But in fact, many people who live in the city don’t happy with their life. I often see stress people in the city, people mad about some trivial things, like caught in a traffic jam and people starts cursing, whining, throwing tantrum. So what’s wrong? Is the city not good enough? No.

The matter is people are too busy looking and scrutiny at the negative things and can’t see the good things in life. People need to look at the positive points. Why people who don’t have kind of conveniences like we do can be happy and we can’t? It’s all about one’s life view. Happiness and self content is what you create by yourself. I learned from this that even if you don’t have anything if you can think positive and self-satisfied, you can be happy. We should be grateful that we have so many conveniences within our reach. One more thing is that we should be grateful that we live in a place where the weather is good, where we can experience all things just in the right amount, not too long and not too short.

Matter of Doing Good Things

Hi, I’m still alive here (some emails asked me if I was dead). It’s been quite a long time since the last time I posted my last blog and I’m very sorry for the late reply for all people who emailed me. I was on vacation with my friends to Alaska and Canada for the last 4 weeks, escaping from the daily life in concrete jungle to enjoy the gift of mother nature. And I’m very grateful that I saw many things that give me inspiration for the future blogs. :D

While I was on my trip, my friends asked me some questions that made me wondering. Some of their questions that made me really wonder were what do I get from doing good thing for other people that I even don’t know? Isn’t this just a waste of time? Don’t I know that whatever I do I cannot change the world become a better place? And why I don’t just write a book or open a consultation place to get extra income, because that would make good thing that I do more worth to do. These questions made me really wonder because is this what most people think or considered before they do good act to other people, that they will good thing if they will get some kind of good payback or profit or money?

Just like I answered to my friends, I want other people know that in my view (Everybody has different view to this and nobody is right or wrong, it’s just a matter of personal sense) doing good thing is definitely not a waste of time, instead it’s the best thing for people to do in their free time rather than like what my friends like to do in their free time like sleeping, or playing some computer games or some other unproductive things which for me that’s the real waste of time.

And what do I get from doing good thing? Nothing if it counts from the material things. But for me, after doing good things I always get a happy feeling like a feeling when people winning a game, sense of accomplishment and also doing good thing can calm and soothe my mind, set back the stress that I got from job or from other bad things happened around me and also give me more confidence. I also asked my friends if they feel the same thing after doing good thing voluntarily, like helping others with their work or some other good things, and they say yes. So basically most people feel happy when doing good things voluntarily, it’s just whether they pay attention to it or not, or whether they decide to kill that feeling or not. And I read some research in the past show that doing good things can make people appear younger, I don’t know if this true or not, but just think this as a bonus if this true. So try doing some good things and prove it yourself. :D

My friends also told me that I cannot change this world no matter what I do because this world is already too corrupted and hopeless. I said to my friend that I don’t try to change this world. I just want to try to make the world a better place to live by doing good things. And this can’t happen if all people are like my friends who thought that the world is hopeless so they choose to not do anything to improve it. You will not know the result before you try it and if you don't start it then who will. No matter how small or rarely people do good things, it will still improve the world. Think about my personal experience, there was a time in the past when I face hard time and there was a person there helping me out, and I was inspired by that person kindness so I do to other people good things too. But that person maybe not even remembered or knows me, but what he did really inspired me. So, good deed is like a disease, it spreads, you maybe think that your good deed that you did today is a small thing for you, but for the people that you helped it might be a huge blessing and made you their inspiration to do good things to other people. The same goes for bad deed too, it spreads, the simple example is bullying, junior got bullied by senior, and when the junior become senior they bully the new junior, it becomes neverend circle. This happen because human naturally have “do what other people do unto you” mindset whether they realized or not. So do good things, to make other do good things too and in the end it will make this world a better place to live. :)

And the last question that was mindboggling for me was why don’t I wrote a book or open a consultation service to get extra income. I said to my friend, why on earth I would do that, my aim is to help people and for personal sense of happiness not for money. Many people who said that they love to help and do good things publicly, but when you in need and come to them, they charged you with money for their help or advices. For me, their purpose is not really to help people but to get money. When you really want to help other people, do it with wholeheartedly and voluntarily, don’t expect anything in return especially money, that’s what I really called helping.

So don’t hesitate to do some good things when you have time. It’s not a matter of how small or big or how many good things you’ve done, but the will and pure intention to do the good things is what matter the most.

I hope my friends’ questions and my answer to their questions can become a reflection for all of us.

The world is not all about “Me”

It’s been a while since the last time I posted my blog, because I have a lot of work to do recently. And also I want to say my condolence to the victims of disasters around the world, like flood in Pakistan, earthquakes in China, and many other places, may the victims given patience and endurance to face all of those things.

I also want to introduce a new feature in my blogger, now I’ve provided music player in the right column, so you can hear some music while reading my blog, and I choose soft or slow music so it will not distract your reading. ;D

I often see little kids that act so selfish, childish or insensitive, they don’t think what the condition and situation around them, they want to get all the attention, and when they don’t get or when something don’t go the way they like, they will be angry or crying. Usually, I see it happens when they want to buy a toy and because of something the parents can buy it for them (for example: the parents don’t have enough money) and the kid will hold on to the toy and crying all the way in the department store and ask their parents to buy it, and they don’t understand and don’t want to know why their parent can buy it for them. But hey, it’s normal for kids to do that, and in fact its’ what make them cute, funny and loveable when we tease them.

But what happen if those kinds of habits are carried on up till the adult life? I meet many people in my life and there is always at least one person that is selfish like a kid, whether it’s in high school, university, workplace, family, etc. And when adult people acting so selfish, childish and insensitive like this it’s really annoying and not cute nor lovable at all.

I often see people that only think of pleasing themselves, and don’t care other person condition or what the other person is going through. And most of the times they don’t realize it that their behavior is very rude and annoying until other people dare or care enough to say it directly to them. for example I saw a couple few days ago in a restaurant arguing about the bill, the man asked the woman for them to split the bill into 2 so each of them pay the same amount, then the woman didn’t want to pay because usually the man is the one who paid the bill all this time, but then the man explained that this time he had financial problem because of his work and he need to save it for something, then the woman appeared very angry and yelled something, the she said it’s over and she went out, and the man looked very depressed. I was quite surprised at that time, not by the breaking up, but rather caused by the insensitiveness and childishness of that person. Just because her date was having financial problem and couldn’t pay the dinner she broke up with him. I just wondering didn’t she realize that we are in the middle of financial crisis, and moreover didn’t she think about her date feeling? Even only as a spectator I’m quite annoyed.

Other example that I often see is a boss who is selfish and never thought of their employees. Usually when things don’t go the right way, they start throwing tantrum or harsh words to their employees. Or the most extreme example of selfish is when a person suicide because of simple matters like because they got rejected by their date or because of financial problems. Don’t they think about people who cared about them, or people who depend their life on them and what the burden that he/she give to people around them, who cared and loved them.

People like that need to be reminded or told that their habit is annoying, because as I said, they often didn’t realized that their habit is actually bad and annoying. It’s also for their own goodness and other people. People like this need to learn tolerance and sense of sensitivity, because it’s what we need to have a good social live, to interact with other people. Tolerance is very important in our life, when we tolerate, we also learn to forgive and learn self-control, understanding other people, walk in other people shoes. That’s why people who have experienced many hardships in their life tend to have higher degree of tolerance, that’s because they already felt it before. And those people who are selfish, childish and insensitive usually never really face any hardship in their life.

So please tell and remind everyone you know who are childish, selfish and insensitive to change their habit. And remember their habit can’t change in one night, change needs time, and so keep remind and tell them all the time to change their habit.

Move on, go forward!!!

I’ve seen a lot of people who spent their time crying, or lamenting, or sulking, or contemplating, or protesting because of what happened to them. Some of them because of losing job, financial problem, and some other because of their loved one die or they just break up, or some other just plain doesn’t satisfy with their life. And eventually some of their friend will tell them to become an optimist person, see the glass with half water in it as half full not half empty. But for me, screw on how they look that glass, rather than telling them to look the glass as half full, I’d told them to get up and fill up that glass until it’s full!

When people get hit by something hard they usually tend to do nothing or even do something negative and useless. They need someone to tell them, to refresh their mind, that crying or lamenting or protesting will not get them anywhere, especially in the case of the death of someone important for them or losing their job, because those acts will not bring the dead to life again or get them back their last job.

They should do something positive, move on with their life, because life and time are very precious so don’t waste it. And I’m sure your loved one, your family and all of good people around you will want you to move on and go forward. Don’t ever give up because of something bad hit you, when you are knocked down, get up and go forward again, no matter how many times it is.

You know what’s better? Try to make that bad experience as a motivation or inspiration for your life to move forward. For example if you lose all of your money, make it a motivation that you will become richer than before and do anything you could, rather than sit and doing nothing but lamenting. Or you can see real example like people whose loved one died because of cancer and they create an organization or make a move to fight cancer so other people will not experience the same loss as them.

Use your life to the fullest as long as you’re still alive, because I’m sure all of us don’t want to find ourselves regretting for what we didn’t do when we have the chance to do it. And remember many great people have experienced heavy blow in their life and yet they can get up and become great people that advancing the world as we know today.

Always get up no matter how many times you’ve been knocked down, and use that as motivation and inspiration to move on, go forward.

Branded Stuffs???

Nowadays people, especially who live in big cities, like to buy branded stuffs. Women usually like to buy branded fashion, like clothes, bags, etc. And men usually like to buy gadgets and cars. Most of them think that branded can raise their social status, make them look better, cooler and richer.

Last week I notice my woman work friend brought another new branded bag from famous designer, that day when we chatted, she told me that her new bag price was more than $1500. Of course at that moment I was shocked, not because the price, but rather because her financial condition. Considering she doesn’t have her own house, and still rent an apartment. Moreover she bought it on credit, so she needs to pay the installment every month. And I notice that there are a lot of people who like to buy branded stuff when their financial condition doesn’t allow them or when they simply can’t afford it. Even some of them goes as far as renting those expensive stuffs because they really really can’t afford it.

The question is, is it really worth it to buy branded stuffs or other stuffs that you don’t need when you can’t really afford it?

Let’s look from other point of view. It’s true that branded stuffs can make them happy for this moment, and also they will look like a rich people, but will those branded stuffs can help you through your future or help you when you have hard times? NO. When the hard times come, those branded stuffs cannot do anything to help you. And when you think you want to sell it, those branded stuffs like fashion, gadgets, cars, second hand price is far below from the new price and declining as the time goes, moreover branded stuffs like that always change models in short time and when new model comes out, the old one price is freefalling.

Second, Can branded stuffs give happiness in the long run? NO. For example my friend above, she use most of his money to buy branded stuffs and she still doesn’t have house. What will happen when she keeps going on like this, and in the future when she can’t work anymore or get laid off, because we don’t know what’s waiting for us in the future, and she still doesn’t have a place to live. I’m sure that she and everyone will not happy when we don’t have a place to live. And I think when she keeps buying stuffs like that; she will have a huge debt waiting for her in the future. Living a live full of debt is not a happy life. So people need to prioritize what they need the most for the long run happiness.

Third, can people look up to a person who doesn’t use branded stuffs? YES. People will appreciate you as long you dressed neat, nice and chic, no need for branded stuffs. And moreover many rich people and celebrities who like to dress casually, not using branded stuffs, and people still look up to them, because they know who they really are.

What makes people appreciated by other people is actually their personality not their stuffs. Friends that people get when they use branded stuffs is not true friend, they only interested in your stuffs, not you as a person. When you don’t have anything, they will leave you.

For illustration, when you cover garbage with gold, that’s still garbage inside it when you remove the gold, it cannot be changed, but if gold covered by garbage, it’s still gold inside it.

So think about this, and choose wisely. Your life and your future are in your own hand. ;D

Things Happen for Reason

You know, most of the times things do not go as we planned or sometimes we feel like the fate playing jokes with us, but you know, things happen for a reason. Maybe in the future we look back at this point now and grateful that it happened in our life.

So when you face problem, don’t give up, see it from other perspective. Maybe it will bring goodness for us in the future, for we not know what will happen in the future.

Like or Love ?

Hi, I’m sorry I didn’t post anything last month since I was really busy and didn’t have time to write my blog. But now I’m back again. :D

Lately I see that more and more people getting divorced on TV, in real life and it’s kinda becoming a culture in western civilization ( I don’t know how about Asia or Africa…). And marriage is not seen as sacred as before but more like a game, when you feel like it you married and when you’re bored you can divorce and just go away. This kind of thing happens because of the wrong perceptions people have in mind, most people mistaken love with like or even some people cannot differentiate like with love.

So I’m gonna give some differences between like and love. Boys and girls need to know this since they often say “I love you” without realize the true meaning. First, like usually or commonly more to attraction toward something “outside” like body, look, fame, status and many more. In school life, boys and girls attracted toward this kind of things a lot, maybe because they are not mature enough. Just common example, “hey I love that boy because he is handsome, his body ripped and he is the quarterback, I’m sure we can be the perfect couple” or “man, I want that girl because she is beautiful, have a sexy body and she is a cheerleader, I’m sure she is the one”, I’m sure most of us have experienced or experiencing it right now. But let’s take a moment and think about it, okay he/she has a nice face, nice body, and popular, then fast forward 20years, what they will look like? Old? Fat? Wrinkled? And what will you do? Do you still like it? I guess the one who experienced it knows the answer. NO, because that thing will change as the time goes. On the other hand, love usually more to attraction toward something “inside”, like feeling, character, understanding and others. And you know, because of that, love will never change, because it based on something that will not change, even as the time goes. For illustration if you love a man now who is funny, kind, diligent, passionate then fast forward 20years, that man will be still the same, because things “inside” are not easily change.

Second, like usually more instant, doesn’t need a lot of time, hasty and will not last long. For illustration, like is like when you buy a cell phone, you buy it because you like it at that time, but after sometime you find that your cell phone is slow, not responsive, crash a lot then you throw it and buy a new one, because that cell phone didn’t have any sentimental value, and it’s easy to get. The same goes for people, they see it, they like it, they married and after sometime they find their spouse is not what they imagined and they dislike it, then they divorced. But love is different, love usually take a lot of time, life consuming and last a lifetime. Love is like when you grow tree, you plant the seed, you water it, you give fertilizer everyday, and you make sure it free from parasite and many more. It takes a lot of time up to the point that tree becomes a part of your life. The same goes for people who love, they take time to know each other really well, create a bond, take a slow step to ensure that he/she is the one, so in the end nothing can disrupt the love.

The last, like is more possessive, selfish and emotional. On the opposite love is more selfless, compassionate, and understanding. For example when you like someone and he/she rejected you then you see he/she happy together with other people and that makes you furious and beat that other people. But when you love someone and he/she rejected you then you see he/she happy together with other people, you should be happy because the one you love is happy.

So don’t mistake like with love. Marry to the one you love, not like, because it can give you happiness. Don’t marry to people that you only like. And don’t be hasty, take your time, it’s better late than fail because love can come at any ages.

Anger and Hatred

In my life, I’ve met many people that have issue in anger and hatred management. Most of them do not have a happy life and even there are some who blinded by their anger and hatred and in the end make them lose everything dear to them. In my opinion anger and hatred are useless act, it doesn’t give any benefit, on the contrary it always give us problems, problems with people around us, problems with our things, and many more.

Few days ago my friend came to me and he said that he and his wife now are fighting each other again ( I think most couples / families have experienced this ) because of some silly matters, at first his wife forgot to do something and my friend are very furious , since he’s highly emotional or temperamental. That day they fought and my friend, because he’s too angry, he throw a very harsh word to his wife, and as matter of fact, woman are more sensitive than man, so his wife heart is hurt. Since that day, both of them are not as good as before again. What came to my mind are their children, so I came to his house and asked their children how they feel. Unsurprisingly, both of his children (they’re both teens) said that they actually depressed too, and didn’t know they must side with whom. They also said that they prefer to hangout with their friends up till night, because they hate to be at home, experiencing unpleasant situation. Then I asked more, do you still like your parents, and they said they still admire them as their parents but not love them, and actually they said they want to get out from their home as quickly as possible. Next, I let my friend and his wife know about their children feelings, and suggested them to discuss thing each other, to clear the problem. Fortunately they able to reconcile in the end.

Last week, I also met my relatives and she told me that she really hate her neighbor, every time she saw him, she feels like she wanted to kill him, because her neighbor always annoy her, from throwing garbage to her lawn, breaking the fence, and many more. So I asked her whether her neighbor know that she hate him, and she said no. and I asked her, about how that hate change her life, and she said that she become emotional every time she saw him, then she mad and cursing him from her heart, also sometimes at night she can’t sleep when she remembered him.

From these experiences we can see the bad impacts from anger.

First you lost the love from people around you, instead they will also hate you or angry at you, creating unending cycle of anger and hatred. And many people realize it too late, they realize when every body dear to them left them, and it’s very hard to bring everything back to what it was before.

Second, what good did you get from anger? NOTHING! As a matter of fact anger and hatred will only shorten your live! You see, from the experiences above, and I’m sure some of you experienced things like that too, so when you hate someone and that someone doesn’t know that you hate them or if they knew and they didn’t respond to your anger, then you’re wasting your energy. You hate them, and you suffer, you mad, you can’t sleep, you’re cursing people, you can’t enjoy peaceful time, etc, and the person you hate enjoying their life as usual, good sleep, happy time, enjoying time, etc. Or even if you take action, say like injured them or kill them, in the end you’ll end up in jail and you ruined your life!!! Isn’t it ridiculous!!!

Third, usually when people angry or hate other people, they’ll blow steam by yelling, throwing things and often destroying their own things. So you’re angry and you destroy your own thing, and sometimes it can be valuable things like cell phones, and many more. In the end after you cool down, you need to buy again those things. It’s only wasting your money.

And at higher level, anger and hatred will only bring war and death to people.

So, stop your anger and hatred! Why choose to live a life of anger and hatred when you can have a life of happiness and peace. It’s only matter of forgiving and controlling your emotion.

World will become a lot more beautiful without anger and hatred.

Desperate? Suicide?

Few days ago I read the news of the SUV that was set up to blow at Times Square and gratefully the police was able to defuse it before it blew. I cannot imagine what will happen and the impacts if the bomb were to explode. We do not know what waiting for us in the future, so in that case we need to be very aware and very careful all the time, just like the store owner who notice something amiss with the SUV and report it to the police, and maybe if he didn’t notice it, he and other many people would die that night.

Yesterday I just talked with my friend and he told me that last year many people suicide around the world because they cannot bear the economic and financial pressure, fell into despair and eventually commits suicide, especially rich people who suddenly become poor people. It is very interesting that they think by committing suicide all problems are solved. For me actually people who are committing suicide are cowards who do not dare to face their problem and simply run away by ending their lives. In fact, suicide only brings more problems to other people who are close to them, like sadness, funeral cost, etc.

In my opinion, if people have the courage to throw away or ending their lives, then why don’t they use that courage to do something great or start anew, because they already have nothing to lose and who know good thing maybe happen for them. Human actually can do great thing when they are desperate, since they will constantly think with all their ability to find way out from their problem, so why don’t use the gift that they have. Or if they do not want their life anymore, then why don’t they use their lives to help another people for a greater cause or good cause rather than throw away their life meaninglessly.

No matter in what kinds of condition we are in, don’t ever give up. Turn your anger, sadness and desperation into strength, and walk once again and who knows a shining world may wait ahead.

Be Grateful

Last week many things happened, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and fraud news. But still no matter what happens we need to be grateful for everyday in our life.

Last week one of my friend talked to me how miserable his life is. He complained that his job sucks, he don’t have enough money to go on vacation, and many more. From what I see, he should feel really grateful, because the fact that he still has a job is a blessing, compared to many other people who got laid off.

Most people always not satisfied with their life, always wanting more but they never spent time to look around, to look how many people are in worse condition than they are. When problems appear in their life, even it’s only a small or trivial problem, people start to blaming other people, blaming their fate, or even blaming God. People should think over and over again before they’re complaining for what happen in their life. Open your eyes, see the world carefully, and you’ll find many people whose life are really miserable, so you’ll realize how puny the problems you’re facing compared to problems that they’re facing. And sometimes problems appear in our life to remind us to be grateful.

Let’s take a look at this example.

Let say, one day the company that you’re worked with give free vacation to their employees to mountain retreat. The company hired 2 buses to take the employees to the mountain retreat. On the way, the first bus tire exploded, and makes the bus going out of control and heading out to steep cliff. Everyone is praying and screaming for help, but miraculously at the edge of the cliff the bus stopped and everyone is save. Moments later, all of the employees in the first bus finally arrived and they are telling how grateful and how blessed they are to the employees in the second bus.

Isn’t it strange? The people in the second bus experienced a hell of situation and they nearly died, but they are feeling grateful that they’re still alive afterward. In the contrary people in the second bus, who didn’t experience any bad situation and having a safe trip, do not feel as grateful as people in the first bus. In my opinion people in the second bus should fell more grateful because they didn’t have any problems. So problems sometimes can remind us to be grateful, because it’s human nature when everything goes smooth and good, we tend to forget to be grateful.

So let’s be grateful for everything happened in our life, like grateful that we have a safe trip to and from our workplace or school, grateful that we still live, and many more. The more you find things and reasons to be grateful, the more beautiful your life could be.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!

I hope you’ll have great easter today. Easter is usually the day to reminisce the death and revival of Christ to redeem our sin. So today I will write about one of the greatest sins that I’m sure every one of us has experienced or still experiencing it now, lust.

I have said many times to young people, especially boy that they shouldn’t watch porn or masturbate, because as every one who already experienced it know, it is really hard to stop from doing it, even sometimes it is impossible for some people. Lot of people think porn and masturbate are easy to control, you can start and stop it whenever they want. Before, I have told my friends that is not possible to control their lust once their start it, they think they can control their lust. As the time goes, their lust grow bigger and bigger, first they only look some magazines or videos that their father have secretly, then they use their computer to browse porn site, after that they secretly subscribed and paid to internet porn site using their pocket money, still not enough, they have sex with their girlfriends, and their lust was keep growing, always want more and it’s impossible for them to live for a week without porn and masturbation. So is this what they meant by saying they can control their lust, because from what I see they cannot control their lust, instead lust is the one who is controlling them, they becomes their slave. And usually people who think they can control their lust fall into deep, they always find justification for their acts. Some of my friends once told me that seeing porn in the magazines, tv and internet is not a sin, because it’s only a group of pixels or ink colors that are arranged to shape a pictures. So are you having this experience or still in the early process? Then keep reading.

Many people think that the habit of watching porn and masturbation that they get from their young age will end when their married or when they are older. It’s WRONG, many married people and adults still cannot stop their porn and habitual habit, if you don’t believe it, ask your older relatives or search the internet. There are many desperate people who want to stop their porn and masturbation habit, because it’s annoying, or a shame to their child and wife, or they want to repent, but alas most of them cannot stop it. And I can make sure that porn and masturbation will give you great problems in the future, especially when you’ve become a great person. Just look on many sex scandals and many other things that famous people have because of their lust. And what do they get in the end, they lost their money, power, trust and even their life.

Less than 10 people out of 1000 people can stop their lust, when they want to. It’s literally like a drugs, once you inject it to your body, you will want more, and when you stop it, it feels like your body and mind screaming from inside. Only the strong willed person able to stop their porn and masturbation habit. And the rest of people can only regret what they did when they were young. Now that you know everything, so why you do things that you will regret later it, you better to stay away from it.

So I strongly suggest to everyone, do not ever try to watch porn or masturbate, even your friends told you how good it is, or even if they force you, because you know that you’ll be the one who laugh in the end.

And for people who are already watch porn and masturbate, here are my few suggestions : stop it immediately, seek help from other people, and do a lot activity that can keep you away from porn and masturbation, and stay away from your computer, because with only few clicks you can open porn site and the devil always there to tempt you. Also don’t tell yourself to stay away from porn or stop masturbate, because you’ll end up thinking more about them, just forget them by doing other things you like. And if you’re already freed, don’t ever try to do it again, because it will make all the effort you done worthless.

Before married sex / teen sex !!??

It’s been 2 week since I last posted in my blog, I went to do some business and unfortunately the place that I visited didn’t have internet connection, geez.

In the past decades up to now, I see that before married sex and teen sex practices are growing more and more in uncontrollable rate. These practices happen the most in the high school through university, and some even experience their first time sex in the junior high. This is very very ironic since most teenagers do it because of their friends invite them or their friends tell them to do it, because sex is fun, make them look cool, and giving them pleasure. And what’s more ironic is, some teenager even proudly talking that they have sex with this and that guy or girl. We know that as adult that all of those are completely wrong, and the consequences are really heavy, especially for women or girl.

I want to discuss why girl shouldn’t do before married sex or teen sex and what are the impacts. First girls have huge disadvantages, because as you know when you have sex “accident” may happen, like the girl will end up pregnant. When this happen, people will stay away from you and you will have no future, your fate is sealed, and guess what, you just destroyed your future by yourself. Next, maybe some of you will think, no way, my boyfriend is a responsible man, or etc etc. You know, the fact is that when you are pregnant your boyfriend most likely will leave you, or even never look at you again!! Because he knows that if he didn’t cut his relationship with you, he will have no future too. And you can see the life of teen moms in television program, some channels have it, and think, is that the life you want to have while your ex boyfriend leave you and have fun with other girls. I’m sure some of you think, “hey I’m safe, my boyfriend always use condom while doing it” or something like that, but even though you have done everything to prevent it, accident can always happen (that’s why they call it accident). Is it really worth it to have sex for a moment of pleasure then you have to carry the burden in your entire life? If you’re a sane person, then you should have NO as an answer.

Another reason why girls should not do teen sex or before married sex is because if girls do it, then what is the difference between those girls and whores (sorry for the rude word)!!?? And there’s even some girls that proudly talk about how many times she already has sex with other people. Whores do it, and she get money for it, but those teenage girls do it, and don’t get anything at all, doesn’t that worse than whores? If they think the reason is love, and then it’s wrong, you know, love composed of some elements, and some of those elements are patience, endurance, and compassion. So if your guy really love you or your true love, I’m 100% sure that he will have no problem to wait to have sex with you until you are married to each other, because love enable him to have the patience to wait, the endurance to hold his lust, and the compassion to understand you. And on the contrary, if your guy only want to have sex with you and if you don’t fulfill his request he break up with you, then so be it, because that man didn’t love you, he only lust for you or your body. And as you can see that girl who given in to have sex with a guy, usually doesn’t last long, because after the guy bored and his lust fulfilled, then he will lust for other girl. And even most of the time that guy will think of the girls that he has sex with as a trophy, to show that he is great. Is this what you girls want?

The same goes for boys, if you admit that you love someone, then don’t have sex with her until you married, because you will destroy her entire life. And if the girl is the one who ask you to have sex with her then break up with her, because that means that she already done it before with other guys or even if she has not, and you make her as your wife in the future, then she will likely cheated on you.

Before married sex and teen sex are also one of the factor that affecting the high divorce rate, because when problems come in the family, or when husband and wives fighting, they will think “hey I’ve done it before, and why don’t it again now, there’s no difference”. And so on and on and on.

So people, think carefully before you do before married sex or teen sex!! Think about the consequences, think clearly don’t be blinded by lust and control yourself. Both man and woman responsible to prevent this from happen.

End of The World !!??

Yesterday, I watched television and shocked by the earthquake news that hit Chile. I said to myself, wow, what’s going on, last month it was Haiti and now Chile, right at the end of February. Is big earthquake going to be monthly event or what. This is horrible, but all in all the victim in Chile far less than in Haiti, hundreds compared to 220,000 for now, something that we should be grateful, since the earthquake that hit Chile was far stronger than the one that hit Haiti.

I just want to say my deepest condolence for Chilean people and let’s pray the death toll stopped and not increasing.

I remembered that many people use this kind of moment to gain personal advantage or to deceive people. Many people, especially influential person are saying the world will end in 2012, or the end of the world is near, and try to make you and other people believe them and do what they say or to promote some product. But you know what bible say in Mark 13 32"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” So no one in this world knows when the world is going to end, it’s just a complete lie. It’s so sad seeing people fooled by other people, and feel worry for nothing.

I also heard that many priests or great figures do some miracles or have some great vision. In one occasion, I got a brochure that said a great priest has come to the church near my place and he will give a testimony of hell, because he said that God once gave him a vision of hell. And the most interesting thing is that he clearly remembers the writing in hell gate, I forgot what are the writing, but the writing is using English. Really?? I mean really?? Did he just have a dream that he thought as vision? And he is not the only one, there are a lot people do greater miracles or greater vision (like go to heaven, or meet God himself, etc etc). Sadly people who lack of faith and wisdom are easily swayed by them. People shouldn't believe that, because, again, the bible already stated that in Matthew 24 23At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.

So now you know the truth, you shouldn’t worry world will end in 2012, or fooled and follow people who admit that have power to miracles as prophet did.

Just live your live to the fullest, enjoy everything, follow your heart and believe what you believe is right.

A Book CAN be Judged by Its Cover

It’s been a week, and now is the third week of February. How was your valentine, good? I hope so. Today I write about misconception that people usually make. There’s a saying don’t judge a book by its cover and this was made as a reason for a lot of people who are too lazy to dress up, or don’t care of their appearance. Now I give you reason why a book cover is really important. Enjoy.

People usually say don’t judge a book by its cover or don’t judge a person by its looks, but it’s a human nature to judge something by it looks since in most occasion when we have something new or meet someone new, we see it first before we touch it or hear it. You cannot resist not to judge people by its look, because it happens spontaneously and instantly, for example when you see a person with beard, scars in his or her face, fierce look, and dirty, and then I’m sure most of you will think negative of this person even though this person has a heart of an angel. Or a person with a neat and clean clothes, very polite, and looking good, and then I’m sure most of you will think positive of this person even though for example he is a killer or evil person.

What I want to say is, content or a person personality is really important, but appearance is also as important as the content or personality. Appearance give first impression to other people who look at and first impression is really important. If people already feel and think that a person is bad because of the impression that person give, then people will have trouble to trust that person, especially when that person do a good thing. First impression will stay deep down on the mind of people and even some people unconsciously labeled people as good or bad just from the appearance, because they don’t know really well that person.

Other case that show how important appearance is happen at the job interview. Usually at the job interview, the questioner or employer will look at your appearance first, whether your clothes are neat or not, etc, because it shows who you are and what is your habit. If you appear bad, then surely you have no chance to get a job. A person appearance, from the way of clothing, talking, eating, etc, usually reflect that person personality, sense, and knowledge.

In conclusion, it’s true that a book shouldn’t judged by its cover but its cover can tell a lot about that book, the same goes for people.

So from today, why don’t all of us recheck our appearance, is it good enough, or not. If not, find a way to improve it, remember to have a good appearance doesn’t mean to spend money, you can do it by dressing neatly, keep your face clean or at least in check, and learn how to appear appropriate in many occasions. Everything will be smooth if people have positive impression on you.

First I want to say Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Lunar New Year to those who celebrate it.

Today we are celebrating Valentine’s Day to commemorate love but do we all really know and understand what love is or how to love? Well, there are a lot different answers to this question from different people, but today I want to share my view about love.

Valentine’s day actually created to remember Saint Valentine death because he defended the right of people and also because his love to God. What I can learn from this is he sacrificed his life for something that he loved. So in my view, love is sacrifice, but that doesn’t mean to sacrifice your life. lol

You can know how deep someone loves something by measuring the sacrifice that he made for that something, the bigger the sacrifice, the deeper the love. Sacrifice can come in many ways, like sacrifice of your heart, time, money, energy or everything that you have that you can give to make your loved one happy. But to make everything work, your loved one also have to sacrifice something for you, if not then it means you have one sided love.

So are you ready to sacrifice today??

Make this Valentine’s day more beautiful, by sacrificing some of you more, give your best effort to make this day unforgettable for your loved one.

My Valentine’s day tips

For guys, give something special for your girl, generally women will loved flowers and chocolate, but if you have more money, you can give her jewelry, you know the saying “diamonds are women best friend”

Take her to special place, like the place you have your memory together for example, the place you first time meet, and talk something sweet to reminisce and usually say sincerely I love you forever also work.

After that you can have a dinner in a place you both like, or if you want to have a change, you can go to high class restaurant and order something special, usually they have valentine’s special menu. Have a champagne and don’t forget to hire singer or music player to sing at your table.

And the last don’t forget to hug and kiss (only for 18 years and older). :D

Harmony Marriage Life

It is February now and next week is Valentine Day. Valentine day usually seen as love day, the day to show our love and affection more to our loved ones and this is not only for people who haven’t married, but also for people who have married.

I see in these days many spouses are fighting or having “cold war” in their house toward each other, which is very sad, and this could lead to divorce. Because of that I want to share a little from my experience on how to making things work in marriage life, so you can enjoy life full of love till the end of times.

First, don’t get mad when your spouse is mad, especially if they are mad at you. Remember don’t fight fire with fire, you can only put down fire with water. So when your spouse mad at you, keep calm, don’t let your emotion get you, wait until your spouse to cool off and then talk to him, then discuss with him to solve the problem. Usually when your spouse mad at you, it’s not always because of you, or your fault, they usually mad because of other things, external factor, maybe like they mad with their boss but they can’t really yell at them right, so they need someone to blow off their steam too. Even if you have big problems keep your head cool, and try to solve it, because there is no problem that cannot be solved when your head is cool. So take it easy, don’t follow your emotion, and keep your head cool.

Second, make time to get together with your spouse periodically and try to rekindle the time when you were girlfriend or boyfriend with your spouse, remembering what makes you love your spouse. Usually people are forgetting this things, and considered this as not important or wasting time, and because you never have your time to get together, your spouse will feel neglected, abandoned, so the fact is get together can boost your relationship with your spouse drastically.

Third, man needs to understand woman better and woman needs to understand man better too. Usually man is more insensitive and woman is more sensitive, and this can make some problems in marriage life. Woman should not talk using hidden message when talk to man, instead they should talk directly what their mean because man is not very good at deciphering hidden message, for example when a woman want to go to vacation don’t talk like this “hey that’s a very beautiful place, and you know you look tired honey” instead talk like this “hey lets go on a vacation, I really want it”. On the other side woman should not feel offended when man talk directly like that, because it’s their nature. Next man don’t really respond well to woman heart talk, they usually respond in short response and simple, as if not have any sympathies, but that’s not true because, again, it’s their nature. For this kind of problem, woman should have close friends to talk to, because they can respond better and understand the problems better, and what’s more usually woman can support each other so they can stay strong.

The last is simple tips from me, try to drink green tea anytime you can, because green tea can calm your nerve, so you can think clearer and also it has a lot of antioxidant so you can always look younger and attractive to your spouse.

Economic Crisis: bad for business BUT very good for environment and your health

Economic crisis is still happening despite all of the experts and analysts said that we passed the bottom. On the bright side, people are beginning to get their sense back, and economic crisis give a lot greater impact compared to all of green campaigns that have been done all this time.

Maybe you say how do I know? Lately I’ve been watching people around my neighborhood to change. Maybe they don’t realize it that their lifestyle now is very good for environment and their health, since their original motive is to save money.

Things that I see people start to walk or use bicycle to the train or bus station, rather than to use their private car like before, and I saw few weeks ago my neighbor exchanged their 5.7litres SUV with compact sedan, which has much much better mileage. So if millions of people doing like this, then you can count by yourself how many carbon that have been saved, moreover walking or cycling make you move your bodies and burn calories, as a result you become healthier.

Another trend that happening is now people stop window shopping or stop buying something that people actually don’t need. This is very good for environment, so there is less waste or garbage and since less people buy unimportant things then it mean no more wasting resources to create that product. Also people are starting to raise the temperature of their air conditioner few degrees in summer and this mean we have saved a lot of electricity.

People now also more keen in food problem. Before, people often eat in restaurant or fast food chain, since it’s easier and simpler. Now, I see people are starting to eat at home and prepare food from home to save money. This is very good for your health because you can control your calories intake and its more hygiene. From what I see, most of people eat more vegetables and less meat when eat at home or prepare food from home, and again this is good for your health, and also good for your environment. Meat animals actually produce a lot of carbon, one of the research show that one cow produce carbon more than several cars.

Because of this economic crisis we have sacrificed some of our conveniences, but do you feel it that we slowly are starting to adapt with it, and it’s not as hard as we have imagined before since we are getting used to. And as a bonus we are helping our environment and also we get healthier.

Maybe all of this are a warning that the world has given to us to get back to our senses, to appreciate more our bodies and nature.

So let keep it this way, good for nature, good for our health, and soon, I’m sure, economy will get better too.

Helping people that you don't know??

Yesterday I read the news and shocked a little when seeing Hope for Haiti telethon able to raise US$57mil in economy condition like this. There are so many people around the world who care for what happen in Haiti and that is really great, helping other people in need.

But what become my question when people that willing to other people that they don’t know about, is do people help other people who are in need around them?

I have seen a lot of people who are like to donate when there is disaster happening, but on the other side they don’t care about those in need in their neighborhood or even in their own family. It’s really great that you care about what happen with people that you don’t even know, so if you’re able to do that then why don’t you help people around you who are in need, you can start at first from people who are close with you.

I’ve seen a lot family who able to donate large sum of money but they are not in harmony, fights happen between husband and wife or parents with children. My point is if you have that great affection to those people who you don’t know anything about, then why you don’t give your affection first to your family, to your closest one. After that you can start to care people in need in your neighborhood, like those beggars and people who don’t have anything. There are always people who are in need that around you, but it is your choice whether you want to look it or not.

Please don’t become a hypocrite person, who always put a smile mask in front but deep down inside all you got is rotten heart.

So help as many people as you can, to make this world a better place.

You Are Who You Are

Another week has passed in 2010, and lots of things have happened. From unending bankruptcy report, waves of people who were laid off, and earthquake that happened in Haiti. Everyday looks worse than before, everything becomes uncertain and spins out of control, but remember everything will be over and all the hardships that we experience today will be like a dream for tomorrow. Keep looking up, never give up, and always look from positive side.

First I want to say my condolences on what happened in Haiti, let’s give a moment to pray for what happened there and may people at Haiti can be given the strength to face all of this. And may this disaster can make us realize how fortunate we are, and give us another reason to give thanks to HIM.

This week in the office when I was enjoying some romantic songs, a coworker of mine stopped by my room and said harshly that I’m sissy, because real man should hear rock or heavy metal music, not some soft music. It comes to my mind how many times I already experienced things like this, and I’m sure all of you also have experienced things like this more than once.

Situation like this happen the most at senior or university age based on my experience. In my experience they usually ask you to smoke cigarette or worse weeds, free sex, use drugs, or speeding. When other people try to make you to like or do something and you don’t do it or like it they will call you coward, sissy, or other rude things. But for me, people who are calling other person coward, sissy, etc like that are actually the one who is sissy, coward, or etc just like what they said.

People, who can resist, say no to all of that, and stay true to themselves, are actually the real great people. The reasons are simple. First, when you say no, you are proving that you are strong enough to be yourself, not what other people tell you, and not to lose your identity, on the contrary the one who are weak actually is them because they can’t resist, and easily swayed. Remember, great people in the world don’t do what other people said, but they tell other people what to do. Second, usually people who force you are always in a group or member of a group, it shows that they’re actually insecure, afraid to be left or alone, and worse they are nothing as an individual, but you, who resist, you show that you’re far better than them, you have a strong heart. And the last, people who can resist will become a successful person or a leader and on the contrary people who can always follow other people will be at the bottom forever.

Remember YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE, NOT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAID WHO YOU ARE.

Persevere In Everything You Do...

Time flies so fast, now the first week in 2010 has passed. I hope all of you have joy and pleasant experiences in this first week of 2010. :D

Yesterday I met another friend of mine who I've never met for a long time. We talked quite a lot, and to my surprise, he has view or way of thinking that is unthinkable for me at first. He said that he always hate God for giving him such a hard life, and how he never get a chance to do something big, something grand and great so he can be rich and famous. To me his way of thinking is quite unique, or alien, but after I'm thinking for a little bit, analyzing my past experiences with people, I realize that maybe there are a lot of people out there who have the same view with this friend of mine. So after hearing on what he said, I talked and discussed my view with him, because I think that his view is not giving good influence for his life and I hope I can convince him to change or at least alter his view, for his own good. I also hope my view also can help other people especially the readers of my blog who have the same view with this friend of mine.

For me this kind of view is kind of unacceptable. First he should not blaming God for what happen in his life or not giving him chance, because from what I see, this kind way of thinking will get him nowhere on the contrary it will only make him too obsessed, focused on looking easy way to get rich and famous, so he becomes reluctant to do hard job or real job and doesn't do whole heartedly what he is supposed to do. This is not right, from what I think, rather than wasting his time waiting or waiting for chances to come to him, it's better for him to do his job or his obligation whole heartedly, because this way he made a progress in his life and who knows in the way of this he find the chance that he is looking for. Because the bible said :

Matthew 25

21"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

So don't ever give up, just like the bible had said, we need to persevere in everything we do, even though it's only small or minor things, and if we persevere we can be given bigger thing to do. You can see that every success person especially people who are in the richest men list in the world, always persevere in what they did, it's nothing sort of they got the money from lottery or nowhere. You can see Warren Buffet who work and trade since very early age, or Bill Gates who persevere in researching what we called today as computers and still countless examples of great person who persevere in what they do so they become great person. Also I want to give you another quote from the bible that is very important for you to think.

Matthew 25

26"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28" 'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

So, now it's up to you to decide on what you going to do, whether waiting for chance to come to yourself, dwell in your dream to get rich and famous, or get up, do something and persevere in whatever you do.

Happy New Year 2010!! Life is just like a firework...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010 EVERYONE!!!!!

I hope all of you have made good resolutions for 2010. CHEERS

Yesterday at New Year’s Eve I watched fireworks, and I’m sure most of you also watch it live or by TV or internet etc, no matter where you are. I always fascinated by the fireworks display, especially the big fireworks, and I came to think of it that actually our lives are just like a firework.

You know, there are many kinds of fireworks, there are small fireworks that fly low and pop really small explosion, and there are few big fireworks that fly really high and explode majestically, drawing all attention to it until everyone says “woow” conscious or unconsciously.

Human lives are also pretty much the same, mostly all of us are just like a small or medium fireworks that fly not so high and explode just the same like other fireworks. Our lives are very short and before we realize it, we already don’t have much time to do a lot of things or our dreams anymore, like fireworks that fly up unstoppable, our lives are also unstoppable, we cannot defy time. And what’s more important is what we have done in our live, like the fireworks, is it great enough to be like the majestic firework that draws all attention to it and say “wow”, or just like a cheap firework that fly low, explode pathetically, and nobody cares or even look at it?

Human only have one life, it cannot be repeated, no matter what you have done, everything will still go forth. So now is the time, it’s up to you to decide, what you want your life would be, either become a great a firework that awed everyone or become a pathetic firework! If you want become a great firework, first thing you can do is make a great targets and resolutions for this year, remember everything is possible, so don’t afraid to put a great things in your targets or resolutions list. Second, do everything you can, give 1000% of yourself to reach your targets, because there’s no time for slacking off, and as I said, we cannot repeat time, so I don’t want to see you regretting things in your old age. And the last is don’t ever lose hope no matter what happens, because, once again, everything is possible.

You Reap What You Sow

Few days ago in the train I heard other people were talking about Tiger Wood, they said that they think Tiger Wood is a great person until the news told us different story. So today I want to talk about think before you act, and in this case Tiger Wood can be a perfect example.

In my view, I think everyone should think as many times as possible before they make decision in their life, and don’t let your emotion or feeling cloud your judgment on your decision making, instead use your logic and science to do decision making since it’s more reliable. But in real life, it’s very hard to do, most of the time we usually follow our emotion or feeling to decide something. So to be more logical or scientific in decision making I suggest you to be patient, don’t be hasty in making decision unless it’s in emergency condition, because usually we need some time for our to emotion cool off and we can think clearer, next take all the time you need, make sure your decision is the best for you. This way we can reduce the risk of making wrong decision greatly.

Other important thing to mind is that we need to train our self control. Self control is very important, especially if you’re are an important person like public figure, because the more success you are, the more temptations you will get and you will need to resist most of it. Most of us, again, have a very weak self control, making us easy to be tempted and fall into something wrong, because evil is lurking around our shadow, waiting us to show our weakness and prey as there is an opening. Usually when we did something wrong, we didn’t directly affected by it, instead the impact happen later in the future, when we unaware, a strike from the back. So how we can improve our self control and fight all those temptations? Well, the simple way is plant on your mind that everything bad you do will surely destroy your future, and also thinks what will happen to your spouse, children, families and friends who trusted you so much. Just like Tiger Wood case, before the scandal he has a good life, $100mill per year only from endorsement and much more, happy family, good public image, but all of that vanished in the blink of an eye, and soon after that trouble keep coming one after another. In the end now he got nothing, no endorsement, broken family, and not only that, he also makes the stock price of the company which endorsed him falls, so this is like a chain reaction.

One last thing, do NOT ever think you can outsmart the evil, it’s better to stay away as far as you can, don’t give any opening in your life.

Remember you can hide rotten thing, but sooner or later people will sniff out the scent, because you can’t hide the scent.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! What's winter mean for Christmas

Hi I just want to say MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU.

Some people always asking or even some other people are whining why Christmas is always cold, and full of snow, how great it is in southern country when in this time of year they have summer. But for me the best Christmas is when it's in the cold winter! Why?

Let me give you the answer behind the meaning Christmas in winter is the best.

Because Christmas is the time for us to share the WARMTH of our love, passion, and care towards other people that we love. Share the warmth by helping others, by meet all of our families again, by hugging your spouse n children, it's the warmth. And, you know, the warmth only feel best at the coldest time. So the one we love can know how we feel towards them by giving the warmth of our heart to them in the coldest time of the year.

Just think what Christmas would like when it's happen in summer... It's hot already and how can we share our warmth, so always be grateful for what we have.

So just like I said, always see things from the positive side... :D

I know there are a lot of people in the world who experience the sustain the whole family especially it’s near Christmas time. same thing as my friend in this financial crisis, where everything goes bad and crashing down. But let us see it from other point of view; this thing might happen for the good reason.

You know that when you’re in your worst condition you can know your closest family members, or friends, or your close person heart, whether they really care about you or just faking it all this time. As I said to my friend, true friends are the one who stays with you, support you, and console you in your worst condition. Next is your family, in this hard time you can really know what your family members like wife/husband, your children thinking about you, whether they are still loyal and support you all the time or they only care about your money. So now you can know who your really best friends are, and also now you can know who you can depend on.

Isn’t it good to know who are really good to you?

Other good thing we can experience from this condition is now you have more free time to spend with your family. This is something you have not a chance to do before. So rather than whining all the time, stressing your head with the depression, why don’t you spend time with your family, play with your children, so they are happy and love you more, or be together with your husband or wife, learn your spouse better so you can understand each other more. Just think this as a vacation from your work, spend a quality time, maybe this is the reason for all of this to happen.

One more thing you can do in this condition, you can sit down, relax your minds, reflect on yourself. I’m sure most of us never have time to reflect on ourselves, since usually our life pretty much like this we get up, go to work, eat, work again, go back home and sleep. Just relax, go to the park, enjoy yourself, reflect on yourself, then I guarantee you can come with new idea to life your live or at least see the world better.

So be grateful and see the positive side in every situation.

Remember, YOUR HAPPINESS IS ON YOUR OWN MIND, NOT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE TOLD YOU!!

Matters of Giving

Christmas time is near, and as usual it's charity time.

People usually donate money or give something to charity, church or directly to poor people (despite we are in the middle of monetary crisis now). It's a good thing to do since Christmas is symbol of kindness, caring and loving. BUT there is a problem usually occurs when people do charity. This problem commonly overlooked by people and mostly this happen because of the misconception or lack of knowledge.

Basically nothing is wrong with the act of giving or charity, the problem lies in how most people do it. Nowadays I can see that people usually give something and they write their name on it, for example you donate to charity organization and they write your name clearly at the boards or papers or even on television. People like to get their name known when they give something, and that's the problem. So is true that what you want is to get fame, to make everyone know that you're good people, you're rich, you're better than who doesn't give? ask your heart for the answer. If you answer no, then you can change, because now you know the truth.

So if your intention when giving donation or charity is to help people, then you should consider this thing again, but if your intention when giving donation or charity is to get fame, then I can speak no more.
